Rich Jones Interviewed for Employment Review Article
COLUMBUS, OH - December 5, 2000 - National Engineering Ltd.'s President Richard Jones was interviewed today for an article on design engineers for Employment Review magazine's February issue. Jean Barnet, the reporter for Employment Review, focused on Rich's expectations when hiring new engineering graduates and what he felt was the most important considerations when hiring new grads.
Rich explained that, "design engineers do not produce a physical product; they produce ideas," and these ideas must be effectively conveyed to owners, builders, ect. While Barnet was expecting the typical response of good grades from a respectable school, Rich's reply was communication. When interviewing new garduates and seasoned engineers alike, Mr. Jones focuses on a person's ability to make their point clearly and concisely. He stated that a good designer must be able to take their idea and present it clearly. If others do not understand it, then it doesn't matter how good the design is.
